TCL
has two ACE (Aptech Computer Education) centres one located in Dhaka and
the other in Chittagong and one ARENA Multimedia education and training
centre located in Chittagong. The three centres together has over 1000
students pursuing Aptech certificate and diploma courses covering six
months, one year, two years and three year courses. The course syllabi
includes the latest software front end tools like Java, Visual Basic,
D2K, VC++, back end tools like MS Access, Oracle, introduction of
Networking and Internet technology, Web page designing, Perl
, CGI Scripting, Lotus Notes and basic of Software Engineering of course
duration from six months to three years. |

TCL
started distributing ICL computers and peripherals from 1983. Subsequent
acquisition of most of ICL by Fujitsu led us to resell both Fujitsu and
ICL computers and peripherals. The ICL product most handled by us is its
range of specialist Financial Document printers used mostly by banks (ANZ
Grindlays and others) and other financial institutions. Fujitsu products
handled include their servers, workstations, pripherals for network (Unix,
Win NT) solutions.

development started back in 1984 with Payroll programs written in BASIC
for an Investment company, Interface programs written to read OMR data
for exam script marking for Open University, Conversion of RPGII programs
on IBM Sys36 to RPGII under Unix (using Software Irelands’ version of
RPGII under Unix), Development of multiuser and single user accounting,
inventory, invoicing and MIS and
other business solutions under Unix platform using Dataflex for Chittagong
Port Authority, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, Berger Paints bangladesh,
James Finlay, Louis Dreyfus & Co, Department of Narcotics Control,
Army Central Ordinance Depot, Karnaphuli Ltd, Elite Printing and Packaging,
National Construction Company, People Soft of USA (subcontract work –Foxpro
coding and testing), Bangladesh Rural Telecom Authority, Bangladesh Centre
for Communication Program, Sonargaon Hotel, Lotus Kamal Group, Hoq Yarn

group is headed by K Atique –e- Rabbani,
BTech (Hons) UK, FCA, a programmer (beginning working life with
British American Tobacco & Co in UK) and Unix administrator in early
days and now a successful entrepreneur combining formal education as a
Statistician and a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of IT experience
at home and abroad. Mr Rabbani is current Secretary General of
BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Sercvices),
Convenor of IT committee of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries
and past Tresaurer of BASIS and BCS (Bangladesh Computer Samity (Association).
